Allied Rugby Conference review - Feb 23

Texas Tech tops the standings after two blow-outs in a row. Can the Red Raiders maintain this momentum against Texas? A win against the 'Horns assures them the top spot for another week.

Oklahoma garnered close-loss and four-try bonus points when they dropped one to Texas. That keeps the Sooners ahead of Texas A&M & Texas. With Sam Houston visiting them next week, it's looking good for Oklahoma to hang their scrumcap on the #1 position next week.

Texas A&M played a sloppy first half in their win over Sam Houston, but countered well-enough on turn-overs to make it look better than it was. They played to their pattern on defense and offense in a clinical second half. Will they be clinical enough through two halves in Waco next week?

Texas sits in the spoiler seat. Their last ditch heroics pulled the most points out of one game that the system allows (7 total. 5 to UT for win plus 4-try bonus and 2 to OU for close loss and 4-try bonuses). A big win over Tech won't vault them to the top of the heap, but it will start the juggling act. Coach Neuenschwander relishes this position and looks to feed Tech a helping of midfield defense they have not yet tasted.
