D1A SFs and VC Final predictions

My prognostications have been right on the money so far. Too bad Vegas is not making book on these games! The blog commentors are arguing which competition is legit (again, it doesn't matter). On one side, the marketing arm is tapped out. On the other side, a big name in broadcasting is engaged for the Final. Either way, three really big college rugby games will be played tomorrow and they are all going to be great matches to watch (hopefully, we'll get some good streams!).

D1A Rugby

Cal Poly at St Mary's - 4pm CST

The Mustangs got within ten points of the Gaels during their regular season match (41-31). The Gaels are never one to rest on their laurels. Cal Poly will play them really hard in the first half and may even have the lead at some point therein. However, St Mary's will rule in the second half and win by three tries.

Life at Arkansas St - 1pm CST - Streamin on 103.9 The Game

Slobberknocker. Barnburner. Runaway trains on a collision course. Pick your metaphor for epic match and apply here! Cam Dolan is slotting in at wing, all 6'6" and 238lbs of him (a mere 34lbs shy of another giant wing of yore)! Is a certain Eagles Assistant Coach trying to build some much needed depth in the MNT backline? Or is he just "easing him back into playing shape"? This match may tell the tale for Dolan's future on the MNT and beyond. But what do Houser's boys care? Sully's got a deadly boot and is tough to tackle. Mizell and Gericke are firing on all eight. Then there's the blistering speed on the outside. Just win the breakdown and move it outside so we can cheer! Both teams are outstanding, well-coached, and desirous of the win. Redwolves by 3 (Sully's foot).

Varsity Cup

Cal at BYU - 2pm CST - Varsity Cup's YouTube channel

This game will come down to one thing: which XV decides that it wants this win the most. This is all the marbles for them. Both teams play brilliant ball. Both teams tackle superbly. Yes, the Cougars will be on the home pitch at South Field where they have NEVER lost to another college team. However, I think that only 200 or so fans will be cheering at the final whistle. The Bears will roar and do so by more than a lot of people might think. Cal by 15.
